Summer 'Come Dine'
Saturday 30th June has been put onto the WI calendar as the date for a summer 'Come Dine' fundraising event. Those who attended as guests and hosted at this event in November had a great time and really enoyed the opportunity of getting to know other members in a small group. For the benefit of new members, the event is a travelling supper. I need some members to agree to be hosts and they cook a 3 course meal. Other members then buy a ticket for £20 and they get a 3 course meal. The twist is that guests move to a different host for each course. Guests are mixed up for each course so you get to meet as many different people as possible. All money raised from the sale of tickets will be donated to Hillcroft, our chosen charity for this year: http://www.hillcroft.ac.uk/
So I really need people to volunteer to be hosts - you will need to be in short travelling distance of Surbiton town centre so that guests can travel quickly between courses. As the weather should be good (!) you could dine outside. And of course there is no point having hosts if there are no guests to entertain! Please sign up at our next meeting or send me an email (kerrytd@hotmail.com ) if would like to be either a host or guest at this event.

Tickets for 'Come Dine with Me' are £20 each and can be paid for on Paypal by clicking on the link below.

If you are keen to get into shape for the summer but are somewhat lacking in discipline to do it by yourself, why not consider a boot camp or personal trainer? Joe Wicks provides such services in Surbiton and is offering a FREE week trial of his bootcamp or one FREE personal training session to help people get in shape for summer. For more information visit www.rumbleinthepark.com and www.thebodycoach.co.uk or contact Joe on 07763715539.
In 2015 the NFWI will be 100 years old – as part of the celebrations the NFWI will be conducting a survey of members to provide insight into the opinions, experiences and concerns of WI members at a unique point in the life of the organisation. In preparation for the centenary, the Public Affairs team is conducting a pilot survey to get a better understanding of the issues that are important to members. We’re keen to hear your views on a range of issues from food and farming, to communities…

Has anyone got anything they would like to write for the newsletter this month, what have you done recently, do you have a recipe that you want to share with us? something from the pudding club perhaps? Or for those of us who dont come to the book clubs - what have you been reading, do you want to tell us about a recent book? It may encourage some more of us to join - there is nothing so tactile as a book, or more relaxing than a book and a glass of wine, or a coffee curled…

We have been approached by Splash Media who are working on a new series called 'Cooks to Market' for Sky1.
They are looking for competitive cooking couples (co-members/friends/partners/colleagues/relatives) who have a recipe or food product that they believe has the potential to be turned into a profitable business. Couples will have the chance to meet with industry experts, and potentially get their recipe or product on the market. It can be anything from homemade brownies, to soups…
